Designs for the permanent exhibition - A Feast For All Seasons
|
Exhibition
I was very luck to be asked if I would like to submit some ideas for a permanent exhibition at the Eastern Institute of Technology Hawke's Bay. This was to be situated within their Food and Wine Centre of Innovation.
The exhibition would comprise a number of large story boards (some 4 meters high and some 3 meters) which would cover the history of food and all aspects of the food industry in Hawke's Bay, and include a link to the types of courses run at EIT.
I had a lot of fun designing these boards. The project also gave me the chance to work with some wonderful photos from local photographer Richard Brimmer. I had never produced anything on this scale on my computer before and the poor thing gave up the ghost - the silver lining being that I had the excuse I needed to buy a new whopper!
For this exhibition I was required to design a lot of other items including trifold information leaflets, and an exhibition book.
The highlight of the experience was having our Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon.Helen Clark open the exhibition.
The whole exhibition was conceived by my sister and business partner Frances Manwaring.(Yes nepotism is alive and well at Shrew Publications!) Frances also wrote all the text for the giant boards, the book and all the exhibition leaflets. Find out more about her skills and
